What do you know about the Battle of the Ebro in 1938?

Through this guided tour you will delve into one of the most decisive historical moments of the Spanish Civil War. You will learn about the most relevant aspects of a battle that lasted more than 100 days, which was one of the bloodiest and most combative of the period and which led to the end of the Second Spanish Republic.

In the summer and autumn of 1938, the Spanish Civil War took hold in Terra Alta. Protagonists and descendants tell us significant stories, stories that we want to relive and tell, and with which we can better understand what the war meant to our region.

The experience takes place in Corbera d’Ebre, the town most affected by Franco’s bombing and artillery. During the visit, you will get to know the most emblematic places of the Batalla, you will recognize ruined houses and pine forests full of shrapnel, and you will understand the cruelty of the conflict and the legacy it has left on people and the land.

Experience Driver:

Enric Ubalde he is a technician in socio-cultural animation and a graduate in social education, and he is the person who, through the stories of the territory, will make you travel back in time like never before. He calls his initiative a “social justice project” through which he can give voice to the vestiges of the Battle.

The mission of the project is to give voice to the stories hidden in our pine forests; to the family stories that have been hidden in a drawer and that, now, deserve to be recovered.
