The Besòs river is full of surprises! Shall we discover them together?
By taking part in this experience you will enjoy a,guided, linear and flatwalk in an emblematic natural environment of the municipality of Sant Adrià del Besòs. The itinerary has one approximate distance of 4.7 km and develops astride the Parc Fluvial del Besòs, one of the most important green spaces in the metropolitan area of Barcelona.
This space, historically degraded and polluted as a result of the industrialization processes of the adjacent towns, has been cleaned up and recovered, and has become a meeting and recreation point for the residents of the border towns.
Through this experience you will learn about the evolutionof the Besòs river, you will discover numerous curiosities around this unique space and you will reflect on the relationship thatwe, human beings, have with the natural resources that surround us.
* The walk starts at the Sant Adrià Library and ends at the Pont d’Eduard Maristany, at the mouth.
* The meeting point is the Biscúter (car) on the wall behind the Library.
* It is recommended to wear comfortable clothes and shoes, water to hydrate andsun cream.
Experience Driver:
David Cano will accompany you during the experience. He is a local guide-interpreter and has long experience in the discovery and communication of small treasures of the natural, cultural and intangible heritage of Montseny and Besòs. David uses creative heritage interpretation (IP) methodologies to intellectually and emotionally connect participants with the values of heritage resources and/or places visited.
Since the beginning, rivers have helped shape landscapes and create unique living spaces. Until recently, the human species approached it with respect and admiration, taking a profit from it that we would now call “sustainable”. Over time, all this has changed… What is our relationship with them now?
